Klein Pollocked (2015)
While obsessed with Yves Klein and anthropometric art, I used Pollock’s favourite paint – gloss enamel – to cover my own body. I ‘Pollocked’ my head since I didn’t want to have to scrub gloss enamel from my face! It worked well, giving the piece an unexpected dynamism. Reading Tracey Warr’s The Artists Body with much interest.
Hands & Feet (2015)
I covered 10 metres of paper with words meaning and about ‘movement’ and asked 4 people to enact the words on the paper, on the paper using paint. Some great imagines were created in this serendipitous and utterly random work. The participants enjoyed the experience as earthy and childlike. I thoroughly enjoyed working collaboratively.
Wax Works (2016)
I am interested in what might happen if two or more materials collide. In this series I used, wax, salt, string, newspaper, vodka, hair spay, ink, watercolours, oil paint, acrylic paint, tissue paper, glue, bubble wrap, wine glasses, masking tape, toy cars, a balance bike, cosmetic spay bottles, hair dye squeezy bottles...
